In my Samsung NX30 – Field Report I described that legacy lenses mounted on my NX30 produce green corners in the photos. Michael Tadd kindly posted a comment with a solution for this problem. In this post I’ll try to explain why this problem occurs and how it can be avoided.
Today I’d like to show you how you can use your camera to surf the web. All you need is a Tizen based camera (NX30, NX300, NX300M, NX3000, NX2000, NX mini, …) and a WiFi access point. (Use this on your own risk!)
Note: This is not possible anymore using cameras with the 28MP sensor, like the NX1 and NX500.
I am just back from a longer vacation with my current Samsung NX photo equipment. I used my cameras and lenses intensively and the relatively new Samsung NX30 got some more attention than the last weeks. After some work with the camera I found some additional problems and got used to some useful functionality, that I wasn’t aware of before. With this article I want to give you an impression on my findings in the categories Body, Firmware and Power supply. My first impressions can be found in the Samsung NX30 Hands On / Review. I am going to update my conclusion from the previous article with my latest impressions.
Today I’d like to introduce a new service I developed the last days, the Samsung NX Firmware Update Notification Service. So what is it about? This server regularly (approx. every 8 hours) checks the web for new firmware information and in case a new firmware is found it sends a notification via e-mail. The mail contains the new firmware version, the change log and a download link. You can subscribe to this service and choose which cameras and lenses you are interested to get notifications for. The service is free of charge.
Samsung has announced a new mount with new lenses and a new camera.The new mount is called Samsung NX-M and is incompatible to the Samsung NX mount, but there will be an adapter to use NX lenses with the NX-M mount. Samsung has announced a new camera for the NX-M mount aswell, the Samsung NX mini. They are going to introduce three new lenses in 2014, too.
